In France, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam had talks with French Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety Florence Guillaume.

The two sides agreed to enhance exchanges on traffic management, particularly regarding the legal framework for traffic safety, the management of commercial transport vehicles and the operational procedures of France’s ANTAI Center - the national agency responsible for handling traffic violations.

They also discussed various other key topics such as data security, cybersecurity, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in traffic data analysis and violation detection, transparency and accuracy in penalizing procedures and raising public awareness through communications and education campaigns.

While in France, the Ministry of Public Security’s delegation also met with Nokia, a multi-national technology group headquartered in Finland.

The company’s representative introduced to Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam and Vietnamese delegates advanced technologies applied to network security, automation, chip manufacturing, AI and smart management systems.

At the meeting, the two sides expressed their interest in exploring collaboration opportunities in 5G infrastructure, security platforms and dual-use transmission systems.

In Belgium, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam had separate meetings with Director of the Belgian Federal Traffic Police Koen Ricour and Director of the Namur Provincial Traffic Police Didier Rochain.

During the meetings, delegates of the two sides shared practical experiences in coordinating police forces in strengthening traffic management, operating traffic information processing centers, improving legal frameworks and the standardizing traffic surveillance technologies.

They also exchanged insights on applications of emerging technologies, such as AI, Big Data and quantum technology, in traffic management, accident response and personnel training.

In Switzerland, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam met with Dr. Etienne Krug, Director of the Department of Social Determinants of Health at the World Health Organization (WHO).

Both parties agreed to share data and collaborate on research and assessments of traffic accident causes, as well as joint efforts to develop support programs on reducing the numbers of traffic accidents and traffic casualties in Vietnam.

Also in Switzerland, the Vietnamese delegation worked with the Director of the Federal Roads Office’s Traffic Control Center, and the Director of the Uri Canton Heavy Vehicle Inspection Center.

At the meetings, delegates of the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on legal frameworks for the operation of surveillance centers, the application of science and technology in detecting violations, monitoring vehicles and drivers and enhancing the effectiveness of state management in traffic safety.
