PSNews - A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Pa Tan Primary and Secondary Boarding School and Bum Nua Primary and Secondary Boarding School in Pa Tan commune, Lai Chau province on the morning of August 26, 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the construction of the two boarding schools in Pa Tan and Bum Nua is a major policy of the Party, State and MPS with the aim of improving the quality of education in ethnic minority areas and creating favorable conditions for children to study in better environments, contributing to strengthening national security and defense and promoting socio-economic development in border areas.

The two schools in Pa Tan and Bum Nua communes will be constructed on a total area of around 10 hectares, comprising approximately 30 classrooms to accommodate more than 1,000 students, with a total investment of 200 billion VND.

On this occasion, MPS presented many gifts to local residents, students and communal police officers.

Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang sent gifts to 10 policy families and 10 village elders, village heads and typical individuals in security protection work in Pa Tan and Bum Nua communes.

The Ministry also presented 20 sets of computers, 10,000 books, school bags, learning materials, student’s uniforms to the two schools, and VND 200 million to the scholarship funds of the two communes.

To help border residents keep pace with the national digital transformation program, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long, together with companion enterprises, presented 1,200 smartphones to people in border communes of Lai Chau province, supporting the locality’s digital transformation efforts and the implementation of Project 06.

After the groundbreaking ceremony, the delegation visited and presented gifts to Trung Chai Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, the Pa Tan Communal Police Station, the Pa Tan Medical Station and several policy-beneficiary families in the area.
