PSNews - Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long sent a letter to the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department on April 22, praising the local police for successfully dismantling a large-scale criminal network of the illegal manufacturing, trading and storage of military-grade weapons.

The content of the letter has been translated into English as follows:

Over the past time, the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department, in coordination with several under-ministerial and provincial police departments, took synchronous professional measures to investigate and dismantle a large-scale criminal network involved in the illegal manufacturing, trading and storage of military-grade weapons.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long commends Lai Chau Police for dismantling illegal weapons criminal network -0

By now, the police have arrested 38 suspects and seized 30 firearms, 39,568 rounds of ammunition, along with numerous machines, equipment and other exhibits.

Through investigation, the police determined that the suspects had produced large quantities of air rifles and lead bullets, and used cyberspace to advertise and conduct illegal transactions, earning illicit profits amounting to billions of VND.

This outstanding achievement demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and sharp professional expertise of the Lai Chau Police Force while implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating crimes related to the illegal production and trading of weapons, explosives and combat gears.

The victory also reflected the effective and close coordination between provincial-level police department  and under-ministerial units. It also contributed to deterring crimes, preventing criminals from using firearms to commit crime while strengthening public trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long commended the involved units and officers for their accomplishment.

The Deputy Minister requested the Lai Chau Provincial Police Department to promptly expand the investigation, complete related documents as well as legal procedures, and collect all evidence to prosecute all involved persons in accordance with the law.

He also requested intensifying public communication to mobilize people to surrender weapons illegally manufactured and traded by the criminal network.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long wished the involved units and officers more success at work in the coming time.
