Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long commends police units for dismantling large-scale transnational gambling network

PSNews - Recently, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long sent a letter to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and the Criminal Police Department, praising the police units for successfully dismantling a large-scale transnational gambling network.

The content of the letter has been translated into English as follows:

Over the past time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, took synchronous professional measures to investigate and dismantle a large-scale transnational gambling network.

By now, the police have arrested 205 suspects and seized 36 automobiles, 189 mobile phones, along with many other exhibits.

During their investigation, the police found that the subjects, who were located overseas, had organized illegal immigration of domestic individuals and participate in gambling activities in the form of cockfighting overseas, with total transactions exceeding 1,200 billion VND.

The successful investigation of the case demonstrated the strong will, competent professional expertise and the excellent capacity of the Thanh Hoa Police Force and the Criminal Police Department while implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on combating transnational organized crimes.

It also reflected the close coordination between provincial-level police departments and under-ministerial departments while affirming the professional expertise and competence of the Criminal Police Division and the Staff Division of under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, contributing to deterring criminals and preventing crime, and strengthening the people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.

The achievements of the units have further enriched the glorious tradition of the Public Security Forces, especially on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Criminal Police Force.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long acknowledged and commended the involved units and officers on their accomplishment.

The Deputy Minister requested the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and the Criminal Police Department to promptly expand the investigation, complete related documents and evidence as well as legal procedures to prosecute all involved persons in accordance with the law.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long wished the involved units and officers to achieve more success at work in the coming time.
