Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long joins enlistment event in Dien Bien

Major General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended an enlistment event in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien, on February 20, which saw local youths joining the military and Public Security Forces.

The event saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, representatives from relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security and local police and military units.

Some 800 local youths in Dien Bien join the military this year while 321 others do national service at public security units.

After the enlistment event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long and Mr. Nguyen Van Thang and other delegates lighted incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and planted trees in the campus of the Provincial Police Department.

On the same day, the Provincial Police Department of Dien Bien announced a decision on the establishment of the Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes Office, which is responsible for state management of cybersecurity, as well as preventing and fighting law violations in cyberspace, acts of using technologies to infringe upon national security, social order and safety, legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

Later on the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long had a meeting with senior leaders of the Provincial Police Department. Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Vice Director of the Provincial Police Department, briefed participants of the meeting on outstanding activities and achievements gained by the provincial police forces over the past time.

The Provincial Police Department of Dien Bien announced a decision on the establishment of the Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes Office.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long appreciated the efforts and achievements of the provincial police over the past time and asked them to closely follow directions of the leadership of the ministry and provincial authorities on ensuring local political security, social order and safety in 2022.

They should also focus on fighting drug-related crimes, gambling, and implementing Party and force building work.
