Over the past time, the Lao Cai Provincial Police Department, in coordination with under-ministerial departments and other provincial-level police departments, took synchronous professional measures to investigate and dismantle a high-tech criminal network defrauding people of their money by luring them to invest in the Heliwin cryptocurrency.

By now, the police have arrested 13 suspects and seized assets and cash valued at approximately 440 billion VND.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had illegally appropriated and gained illicit profits of 780 billion VND from nearly 40,000 victims.

The victory demonstrated the high sense of responsibility and sharp professional expertise of the Lao Cai Police Force while implementing directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on preventing and combating organized and high-tech crimes.

The success in clearing the case also reflected the close and effective coordination between under-ministerial departments and provincial police departments, contributing to deterring criminals, preventing crime, ensuring security and order and reinforcing people’s trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praised the Lao Cai Police Force for the victory.
