Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praises Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department for dismantling counterfeit goods production rings

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long sent a letter to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and its Economic Police Division on February 9, praising them for successfully dismantling two large-scale nationwide rings producing and trading counterfeit food products and medicines.

Over the past time, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department took synchronous professional measures to dismantle two large-scale nationwide rings engaged in the production and trading of counterfeit food products and medicines.

By now, the police have arrested 26 suspects and seized 7,170 boxes of medicines and functional foods, 22.5 tonnes of raw materials, along with numerous machines, equipment, documents and exhibits related to the case.

This outstanding achievement has resulted from the high determination, strong sense of responsibility, ingenuity, creativity and sharp professional expertise of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police in general and its Economic Police Division in particular, while following the directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring security and order for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Lunar New Year 2026 with a focus on combating crimes related to the production and trading of counterfeit goods.

The clearance of the case has contributed to protecting public health, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of law-abiding pharmaceutical enterprises, deterring and preventing crime, and strengthening public trust in the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long acknowledged and commended the involved units and officers on their accomplishment.

The Deputy Minister requested the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department to promptly expand the investigation, complete the documentation and evidence related to the case and legal procedures to prosecute all suspects in accordance with the law.

He also requested the local police to withdraw a maximum amount of counterfeit goods already distributed on the market, while spreading public warnings to raise people’s vigilance against this type of crime.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long wished the Thanh Hoa Police Force would achieve more success at work in the coming time.
