PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long paid a working trip to the Federative Republic of Brazil from March 9 - 12.

Within the framework of the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long had talks with Brazilian Minister-Chief of the Institutional Security Cabinet (GSI) of the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil Marcos Antonio Amaro dos Santos, and Secretary at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security and President of National Council of Public Security Secretaries of Brazil Sandro Torres Avelar.

At the talks, the two sides agreed that Vietnam-Brazil relations have witnessed positive developments in various fields in recent years, maintaining regular exchanges of delegations at all levels, promoting sustainable economic growth and closely coordinating with each other at multilateral forums.

Both sides agreed that Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long's visit to Brazil marked an important milestone in bilateral cooperation and laying a firm foundation for the two countries’ law enforcement forces to expand their cooperation in ensuring security and order in each country, contributing to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering peace and security in the region and the world.

In a cooperative spirit, the two sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at various levels to foster mutual understanding, and strengthen coordination in ensuring security and safety for one country’s high-level delegations visiting the other country.

Additionally, the two sides committed to strengthening cooperation in preventing and combating non-traditional security threats, particularly high-tech crime and terrorism, join efforts in responding to large-scale cyberattacks threatening national security and critical information systems of each country.

Finally, the head delegates reached consensus on promoting cooperation in professional training and capacity-building to improve professional expertise and foreign language proficiency for the two sides’ law enforcement forces.
