PSNews - A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long had a working session with the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department to review its takeover of drug rehabilitation facilities, on March 3rd, 2025.

The working session also saw the presence of Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi and Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Minh.

Before the working session, the delegation had visited Drug Rehabilitation Facility No. 1 in Tam Lap commune, Phu Giao district, and heard reports of the local police on the implementation of their newly-assigned mission of managing and running the drug rehabilitation facilities in the province.

Accordingly, the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department has signed agreements and officially taken over the management of two drug rehabilitation centers that had used to be managed by the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Binh Duong province, and the Youth Volunteer Drug Rehabilitation Facility run by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee but located in Phu Giao District, Binh Duong Province.

After taking over the rehab facilities, the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department assigned its Counter-Narcotics Police Division to quickly take on the responsibilities, managing, protecting security and running those facilities without any disruptions or security issues inside and outside the facilities.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long praised the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department for its efforts and initial positive results of running the rehab facilities after the takeover.

The Deputy Minister urged the Binh Duong Provincial Police Department to continue to effectively implement the policies and directives of the Party and the State on streamlining the organizational apparatus while enhancing the operational efficiency of local police forces.

He also stressed the need to ensure security and order, strengthen anti-crime efforts, deny any unexpected security cases, especially in the context that the district-level police agency has no longer existed.
