Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son checks Security Unit at Can Tho Airport

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on June 10 led a delegation to visit and work with the Security Unit at Can Tho International Airport.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Head of the Security Unit, reported to the Deputy Minister that during the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic, the unit made great efforts while working on the frontline against the epidemic, and successfully fulfilled its core task of ensuring security at the airport.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Le, Head of the Immigration Management Office under the Can Tho Municipal Police Department, said that the Security Unit had safely performed the entry procedures for 52 flights with 6,374 Vietnamese citizens returning home from pandemic-hit foreign countries, under the direction of the Central Steering Committee on COVID-19 prevention. All soldier and officers strictly observed the medical safety regulations and measures while working at the high-risk place.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the Can Tho Municipal Police Department as well as the Security Unit at Can Tho Airport during the period of complicated development of the pandemic.

The Public Security Forces, considered one of the most important forces in the fight against COVID-19, has coordinated with the health sector, and the military to attain the proud achievements in preventing and fighting the pandemic. The Municipal Police Department of Can Tho and the Security Unit at Can Tho International Airport have also made great contributions to the common achievements in the fight against the pandemic.
