Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son visits Tien Giang

PSNews – Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a working delegation of the MPS to visit Tien Giang.

The working session was attended by leaders of various professional units under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS); Mr. Le Van Nghia, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of the Tien Giang Provicial Police.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Tri, Director of the Tien Giang Police reported the Deputy Minister and the working delegation on the police work in 2017. Accordingly, the situation of political security in the area has been stable. The Provincial Police promptly recognized situational developments, particularly those regarding economic and social security, and reported them to the higher levels for the solutions.

Criminal activities related to social order and safety were curbed in 2017. 870 cases of social order offense were recorded in Tien Giang in 2017, down by 9.4% compared to the same period last year. The Provincial police force has investigated 85 drug-related cases and arrested 104 suspects; investigated 343 economic cases, arrested 378 persons with economic wrongdoings and corruption.

The force also supported residents in preventing and struggling natural disasters, and maintained local security and order during Typhoon Tembin.

Deputy Minister Son acknowledged and appreciated the achievements and efforts of the Tien Giang Provincial Police force.

He also thanked the authorities and people of Tien Giang for their valuable supports to the local police force.
