Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with Dak P’lao Prison

PSNews - Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on November 13 led a delegation to work with Dak P’lao Prison under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Truong, Chief of the Correctional Staff of Dak P’lao Prison briefed the Deputy Minister and delegation on the prison’s situation and the staff’s results of the task performance in 2018.

During the year, the prison’s leadership paid attention to improving the working environment, providing vocational training, medical care and food for prisoners. As a result, the prisoners’ cultural and material lives were improved while the prison’s security was maintained.

Since 2017, over 350 prisoners in Dak P’lao Prison with clear progress at the prison have enjoyed the policy of early conditional release.

In addition, officials, soldiers of the prison and relatives of the prisoners also raised the “Golden Heart Fund” to support ill prisoners or those without families. The prison’s staff also organized various charity activities, giving gifts to local poor students and people.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son praised the efforts and achievements of the prison’s correctional staff. He also asked all leaders, officers and soldiers of the prison to overcome difficulties as well as the limitations, improve the effectiveness of the re-organization of prisoners, and attain more achievements.
