A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on May 27 afternoon visited and worked with the Long An Provincial Police.

The meeting, which was held to review the Long An Provincial Police Department’s task performance in recent time, also saw the participation of Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Ranh and other province’s leaders, representatives of units under the Ministry of Public Security.

At the meeting, Senior Colonel Le Hong Nam, Director of the Long An Provincial Police Department briefed Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and the delegation on the unit’s task performance in recent times, and the security and order situation in the province.

Senior Colonel Le Hong Nam highlighted the unit’s achievements in fighting cigarette smuggling, saying the unit discovered and handled 346 cases of illegal storing, transporting and trading in prohibited goods, and seized 823,783 cigarettes packs and other goods worth VND 11 billion.

Addressing the working session, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son recognized and praised achievements as well as efforts of the officers and soldiers of the Long An Provincial Police in recent times.

Regarding the future working plans, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the Long An Provincial Police to focus on grasping the situation, making good forecasts on situational developments, and actively advise local authorities on solutions to security and order issues.
