Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with Prison No.1 of Hanoi Police

PSNews – Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security on February 9 visited and worked with the staff of Prison No.1, under the Municipal Police of Hanoi.

Senior Colonel Chu Xuan Tho, Correctional Supervisor of Prison No.1 briefed the deputy minister and his entourage on the unit’s task performance with numerous difficulties and risks, as well as its achievements in the past time. He emphasized that all officers and soldiers at the prison have always tried their best to overcome any difficulties and complete their assignments.

Deputy Minister Son expressed his sympathy for the difficulties of the officers and soldiers in managing and re-educating inmates, but still urged the prison’s leadership to intensify the management and education of its staff.

On a tour around the prison, Deputy Minister Son paid special attention to checking the diet and medical treatment of the inmates as well as detainment conditions. He encouraged the prisoners to seriously implement their sentences to soon reintegrate into the community.

He also praised the results of Prison No. 1 in the past, requested the Board of Supervisors to well implement the policies, actively coordinate with professional units of the Municipal Police of Hanoi to improve the professional work, seek supports from the local authorities and people to reinforce the management, and re-education of prisoners and instruct them to follow the laws and the prison’s regulations.
