The meeting saw the presence of Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien – Hue Provincial People’s Committee and representatives from relevant departments of Thua Thien – Hue.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Director of the Thua Thien – Hue Provincial Police Department, briefed the deputy minister and other delegates on all office buildings and assets possessed and used by provincial police units, particularly the communal police posts.

The officer also discussed the local police’s efforts in preventing and controlling crimes and COVID-19, and responding to natural disasters in the province over the past time.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son spoke highly of the role of the provincial police in advising the provincial authorities to build new headquarters for police units in the province.

He also thanked the provincial authorities and relevant departments and agencies for creating favorable conditions for the provincial police to perform their tasks over the past time.

The Provincial Police Department of Thua Thien – Hue has been one of the first provincial-level police units to deploy professional police officers to communes, Deputy Minister Son said. At present, the police officers posted to communes have all settled down their lives but are still facing various difficulties, he noted, so the building of new headquarters for the communal police force will improve their working efficiency.

As severe flooding has occurred over the past few days, claiming 3 deaths in the province, Deputy Minister Son urged the provincial police to actively respond to natural disasters, evacuate people, and protect people’s properties.
