Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son works with Tra Linh Border Station

PSNews - On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of Vietnam’s Border Guard (March 3, 1959 – 2019), Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Member of the Public Security Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, visited and worked with the Border Guard Post of the Tra Linh Border Gate, Cao Bang on March 3.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son was accompanied by Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-Chief of the Public Security Newspaper; Major General Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Director of the Cao Bang Provincial Police Department and representatives from various units under the Ministry of Public Security, Cao Bang Police and the authorities of Tra Linh.

According to Major Be Hong Cuong, Political Commissar of the Border Guard Post of the Tra Linh Border Gate, the post was founded in April, 1959. At present, the border post is responsible for  managing and protecting a borderline of over 27 kilometers with Jingxi and the Zhuang Autonomous Region in Guangxi Province (China), as well as  63 border landmarks, for ensuring public order and security of 4 communes, 1 town and 16 border villages home to 5 different ethnic groups.

Through 60 years of development, under the direction of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Public Security, the Border Guard Post has overcome various difficulties and fulfilled all given tasks.

For its achievements and contributions, the Border Management Unit under the Border Guard Post of the Tra Linh Border Gate has been presented with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and a Feat of Arms Order by the State President as well as other noble awards by higher levels.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son congratulated all soldiers and officers of the border post on their achievements over the last 60 years.

He also highlighted the good coordination and effective support between the local police and border guard forces over the past time, contributing to successfully fulfilling their assigned tasks.

In the current context with new situational developments, Deputy Minister Son asked the police and border guard forces of Cao Bang to well perform their advisory functions, promote various movements and campaigns to mobilize local people to protect national defence and security.

On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and his delegation also visited and worked with the Police Station of Tra Linh district, a unit holding the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and leading in various movements.
