Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh visits Dong Thap

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security led a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to work with the police of Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap.

Senior Colonel Tran Thanh Phuong, Head of the Hong Ngu District Police, briefed the delegation of the MPS on the task performance of the district police in the past time.

Hong Ngu district has 3 communes sharing border with Piemcho district, Prey Veng, Cambodia.

In recent years, the local authorities and residents of the two sides have maintained fine relations, facilitating various activities, business and visits of the people.

Since the beginning of 2017, the situations related to political security and social order and safety in the border areas have been stable. The number of criminal activities has witnessed a year-by-year fall in recent 4 years.

Deputy Minister Thanh recognized and praised the achievements gained by the district police in particular and the Dong Thap Provincial Police in general.

He also asked the police force of Dong Thap to focus on implementing the central tasks, attach importance to building an elite, modern and effective police force, functioning as a sharp tool to protect the Party, the government and the people.

The Deputy Minister also asked the local police force to be more proactive in advising the local Party organizations and authorities on security and order, ensuring security and order, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

The Deputy Minister and the working delegation of the MPS also visited and worked with the police staff of Cao Lanh prison, under the General Department 8 of the MPS.
