Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh works with General Department of Politics

PSNews- Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security on February 10 had a working session with the General Department of Politics on the work of building of the People’s Public Security Forces.

The event saw the participation of leaders of the General Departments of Politics and heads of agencies and units under the General Departments.

Delivering a summarization report on the general department’s task performance recent time, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the People’s Public Security Forces said, the general department has well performed its functions as an strategic advisor of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on the work of Party building and the building of the People’s Public Security Forces, contributing significantly to maintaining political security and social order and safety.

“The General Department of Politics has also well promoted the work of mass mobilization and law and political education, and implemented many effective measures to fight against false allegations of hostile forces and other type of crimes,” Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Nam said.

He then added that movements and educational activities to bring into full play the glorious revolutionary traditions of the nation, the Party and the People’s Public Security Forces have also extensively been carried out across the public security forces.

At the conference, delegates also focused on discussing effective approaches to improve the efficiency and quality of the work of building the forces, such as organization and personnel work; the policy work for public security officers, soldiers and workers; and ideological and political education.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Deputy Minister praised the General Department of Politics for their achievements in the past time.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh then asked the General Department to actively give good and timely advice to the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security on political and ideological issues so that the entire Public Security Forces could effectively implement directions of the Party and State on Party building and force building.

He also asked the political department to well study and execute the decisions and conclusions of the 72nd National Public Security Conference, contributing to ensuring security and order, and serving the country’s economic development while stepping up its administrative reform.

Besides, the General Department of Politics was urged to strictly implement the Resolution of the 12th Party Central Committee’s 4th Meeting on Party building and Directive 05 of the Politburo on enhancing the movement “Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, moral and style” and Directive 02 of the Ministry of Public Security on improving the efficiency of ideological and political work of the People’s Public Security Forces in the period 2016-2020.
