Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To inspects Institute of Science and Technology

A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security led by Deputy Minister, Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, visited and inspected several units under the Ministry of Public Security's Institute of Science and Technology.

Over the past time, the Institute of Science and Technology’s Technical Center for Criminal Records and Archives has studied and designed the Vietnam E-Passport, meeting international security standards.

The e-passport has been submitted to the Ministry of Public Security's leadership for approval to be issued when the new Law on Vietnamese citizens’ exit and entry takes effect. It has also designed the electronic citizenship ID card and organized seminars to gather comments on the design.

Meanwhile, the Chemistry Division and the Biology and Environment Division under the Institute of Science and Technology have conducted many research projects and produced various products in support of the People's Public Security Forces in performing their tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To recognized and praised the achievements made by officers and soldiers of the units over the past time.

He asked the units to exert efforts to successfully realize the objectives, requirements, and tasks in their working plans for 2021. They should effectively carry out research projects, develop new products, and manufacture technical equipment to meet increasing operational and combat requirements of the People's Public Security Forces.

The Deputy Minister also asked the units to take preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic among their staff as well as to join common efforts in preventing the spread of the disease in the society. They should also conduct scientific research projects and make more products in support of the pandemic prevention and control, the Deputy Minister asked.
