DIC announces 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival

The Department for Information and Communication (DIC) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a press conference on the 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival. DIC Director, Major General Do Trieu Phong chaired the event.

Under the decision of the MPS, the 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival is taking place in Can Tho city from October 12 to 16. The DIC also advised the Director of Vietnam TV (VTV) to set up a jury board for each broadcast category.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To and VTV Director Le Ngoc Quang will be co-president of the festival.

The MPS has entrusted the DIC, with experience of holding 12 editions of the Public Security Television and Radio Festival over the past 30 years, to make thorough preparation for this year’s festival.

Best works in different broadcast categories will be honored and awarded during the festival.

The organizers expect the festival, with the motto “Professional – effective – friendly”, would welcome 800 delegates who are broadcasters, journalists, editors, programmers working at radio and TV stations inside and outside the Public Security Forces.

Various activities will be held on the sidelines of the festival, including offering ceremony to Hung Kings, exhibition on public security press’s development during the 13 festivals as well as charitable activities in Can Tho, An Giang, Bac Lieu and other Southern provinces.

The opening and closing ceremonies will take place on the evening of October 12 and 16 respectively, and broadcast live on various radio and TV channels. Some 2,000 delegates and spectators are expected to attend the opening ceremony.

To date, over 500 radio and TV broadcasts and programs have been submitted to the organizing board, according to Standing Vice Head of the Festival’s Organizing Committee and DIC Vice Director Senior Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan.
