Dien Bien Provincial Police receives the third-class “Fatherland Protection” Order

PSNews – The Dien Bien Provincial Police held a meeting to celebrate its 65th founding anniversary (January 10, 1953 – 2018) and receive a third-class “Fatherland Protection” Order from President Tran Dai Quang on January 9.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Son, member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee praised the excellent achievements of the Dien Bien Provincial Police over the past time.

In the field of political security, the Dien Bien Provincial Police was proactive in grasping the situation and forecasting situational developments to advise the local authorities on giving appropriate directions to receive supports from people and for the fulfillment of all assignments.

Each year, thousands of officers and soldiers of the unit went to remote and mountainous areas to promote relations with local people, support them in production and life, and ensure local security and order. 

Additionally, the Dien Bien Provincial Police launched intensive attacks on criminals. The rate of successful investigation and handling of serious cases and specially serious cases reached 100%. The unit also made many outstanding victories in cracking down on many trans-border and interprovincial drug trafficking rings .

During the 10 days in late 2017 and early 2018, the Dien Bien Provincial Police investigated and solved three major special cases, seizing seven suspects and the largest ever amount of 60,000 synthetic drugs and about 200 kg of heroin.
