Economic police force rolls out working plan for 2021

PSNews - The Police Department for Corruption, Smuggling and Economic Crimes (Economic Police Department) held a meeting on December 15 to roll out the economic police force’s working program for 2021. The event saw the presence of Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

This year, the economic police force nationwide has successfully investigated and handled many cases of smuggling of forbidden and counterfeit goods. Particularly, the force investigated and prosecuted 1,328 cases of smuggling medical supplies for purposes of COVID-19 prevention and control with the involvement of 1,735 people.

The force also strictly followed the laws in carrying out investigations and proceedings, receiving and settling denunciations and crime reports from organizations and people.

Many economic police units and officers have made outstanding achievements in the emulation movements.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested the economic police force to draw out specific working programs and plans for the coming time, with a focus on Party and force building to meet the requirements of the assigned tasks in the current context.

In the near future, the economic police force should effectively launch intensive campaigns to combat crimes and ensure security and safety for the 13th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year festival 2021.

On this occasion, under the authority of the Party and State leadership, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented the Third-class “Feat of Arms” Orders and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister to outstanding officers from the Economic Police Department. He also awarded the title “Emulation Soldier of the entire People's Public Security Forces” to three officers of the unit.
