During their two-week visit, officials of the Essex Police met the families of all 39 Vietnamese lorry victims.
The police of the Vietnamese provinces of Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, ThuaThien – Hue, Hai Phong and Hai Duong supported the British police officers during their visits to the lorry victims’ families.
In a press release, the Essex Police said that, during their visits, the British officers expressed their condolences to the victims’ families and got information useful for the case from local people.
During the visits, the British police officers also gave the victims’ families an insight into their procedures for identification of the victims as well as their investigation progress.
The press release also recognized and appreciated the effective support from the British Embassy in Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.
Meanwhile, the UK Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward revealed that the British and Vietnamese police forces have effectively coordinated with each other over the past time, which has helped accelerate the investigation process in both UK and Vietnam.
