Fire Police Force receives First-class Fatherland Defense Order

Hanoi - State President Tran Dai Quang attended the 55th Anniversary of Fire Police Force and presented First-class Fatherland Defense Order.

On October 2nd in the morning, Ministry of Public Security held the 55th Anniversary of Fire Police (Oct 4th 1961 – Oct 4th 2016), 15th Anniversary of the Masses Fire Protection Movement. 

State President Tran Dai Quang attended the ceremony. The event was also attended by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of Poliburo, Minister of Public Security, representatives from other ministries, branches and over 600 officers from various fire offices nationwide.

The Order regulating State Management on firefighting issued on October 4th, 1961 marked the birth of Vietnam Fire Police Force.

After 55 years of development, Vietnam Fire Police had overcome numerous difficulties and obstacles and gained various merits, serving the important role in controlling fire.

The firefighting forces have conducted advisory role to various agencies at all levels in terms of fire safety and control. They also succeeded in dissemination and education for the masses to better ensure safety and protection of fire, reducing the possible damages.

The force managed to further check, control and settle any violations of fire safety, timely detect and solve any factors that may cause fire or explosion.

Thanks to their achievements and merits, the Fire Police Force was honored by the CPV and the State with various orders, including 01 Ho Chi Minh Order, 01 Third-class Military Exploit Order. Other noble merits had been given to thousands individuals and organizations of the force.

Addressing the event, on behalf of the CPV and State leaders, State President Tran Dai Quang honored and praised the achievements gained by Vietnam Fire Police in their 55 years of development.

He noted that in the time to come, the socio-economic situations are supposed to gain more achievement, urbanization and climate change, droughts may experience more adverse development, which may result in fire or explosion.

He said the movement of the masses preventing fire should be given more priorities. He also stressed that timely complement and honor of citizens or fire officers with achievements in fire fighting should be encouraged.

The State President required the Fire Police Force to further develop the application of science and technology achievements in practice, contributing to better control of fire and rescue.

It is important to cooperate with Fire Police of other nations with highly developed fire fighting technologies. Exchange and share of practical experience should be encouraged to improve the ability of fire forces.

Mr. Quang emphasized the importance of education and training for fire officers, both professional and semi-professional. Other qualities of fire police should be paid attention to, including moral or professional conduct, knowledge on politics or law, science and technology, etc.

State President Quang hoped that in the time to come, Fire Police Force will maintain and promote their tradition, make all efforts to train and overcome any obstacle and gain more and more achievement, making contribution to the national building and defense, deserving the trust and sentiment of the CPV, State and People.
