"For Fatherland Security" movement in 2016 reviewed

PSNews – At the closing ceremony of the 72th National Public Security Conference on December 27th, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, summarized the movement “For Fatherland Security” in 2016.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam praised all positive results of public security agencies and units in 2016. He also stressed that in the complex situation of the region and the whole world, the Public Security Forces exerted all-out efforts to fulfill assignments and struggle reactionary and hostile forces, successfully maintaining national and political security as well as social order and safety. These achievements of the Public Security Forces contributed to national socio-economic development of Vietnam.

All public security departments and police units should develop the missions and solutions in 2017 and the following years, which have been mentioned in the Resolution of the Central Public Security Party Committee, into concrete plans and programmes for implementation.

Minister To Lam instructed all public security agencies and units to drastically suppress crimes during Luna New Year festival 2017; deploy comprehensive measures to promptly deal with arising problems relating to social order and security, food safety, traffic safety, fire prevention.

Minister To Lam launched the movement "For Fatherland Security" in 2017 and urged all soldiers and officers to uphold the revolutionary spirit, overcome difficulties and challenges, following slogan "Innovative, Proactive, Disciplined, Responsible and Effective". All soldiers and officers should promote the traditional values and the past achievements to fulfill assigned duties.

At the conference, on behalf of the Party, State, Minister To Lam  announced a decision signed by the President Tran Dai Quang to confer noble awards on outstanding high-ranking officers, including the Exploit Order of second class to Senior Lieutenant General Tran Viet Tan, Former Deputy Minister of Public Security for special achievements in stabilizing political security, social order and safety.

In addition, on behalf of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam handed over Emulation Flags of the Government to 24 great departments and units of the Public Security Ministry.
