Foreign Relations Department holds Party Congress for 2020 – 2025 term

The Party organization of the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Public Security held its first Party Congress for the term of 2020 - 2025. Major General Le Tan Toi, Member of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and addressed the Congress.

Over the last term, the Party Committee of the Department of Foreign Relations has advised the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security to launch many major projects and policies concretizing the Party and the State’s guidelines on foreign affairs, international cooperation and human rights protection.

Furthermore, the Party Committee regularly inspected its subordinate Party organizations’ implementation of the Party Central Committee's resolutions as well as Party members’ performance of their duties. It also strengthened its leadership over every aspect of Party work of the Party organization, and promoted the practice of the democratic centralism principle, self-criticism and criticism among Party members.

Addressing the Congress, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi recognized and praised the efforts and achievements made by the Party organization over the past time.

Regarding its missions in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi asked the Party organization to comprehensively implementthe Party's and State's policies to promote international cooperation and integration in a proactive manner.

He also requested it to work closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and other relevant agencies to deepen the existing relations between the Ministry of Public Security and law enforcement agencies of foreign countries, as well as with foreign embassies and international organizations in Vietnam.

At the Congress, the delegates elected the Party Executive Committee of the department’s Party organization for the term of 2020 – 2025 and a delegation to attend the 7th Public Security Party Congress.
