Dong Thanh commune of Lam Ha district had been listed as one of the local security hotspots for years. Since Lam Dong Provincial Police Department started the reinforcement of full-time police officers to the locality following a big project of the Ministry of Public Security to strengthen commune-level police force, several commissioned police officers have been deployed to Dong Thanh commune.

Thanks to the cooperation of the local Party organization and authorities, professional police officers of the Dong Thanh Commune Police Post have well grasped the local security and order situation and settled conflicts, disputes among locals in the commune.

In Dong Thanh commune, all drug addicts and bad subjects have been listed by the communal police force. The police officers regularly monitor and use professional measures to encourage them to obey the laws while seriously handling all law violations from grassroots levels.

Recently, the Dong Thanh Commune Police cooperated with the Lam Ha District police in arresting and handling a number of cases related to property theft, and storage and use of illegal drugs.

The police officers also join hands with Dong Thanh commune’s authorities to organize workshops and public education events to equip students and local people with knowledge of traffic safety, harms of drug abuse. They also  raise public awareness of forest protection and mineral management.

Along with that, the Dong Thanh Commune Police actively advise the Commune People's Committee to develop plans to ensure security and order during big events and holidays, particularly the ongoing Lunar New Year (Tet).

Since the deployment of the commissioned police officers to Dong Thanh commune a year ago, the commune has become peaceful, safe and secure. The efforts of the communal police have been recognized by the local authorities and the people.

Dao Van Tam, Deputy Chairman of the Dong Thanh Communal People’s Committee spoke highly of the achievements of the communal police officers, saying that thanks to their presence, the security and order situation in the commune has been significantly improved.
