The General Department of Logistics - Techniques held a conference on July 10 to review its task performance in the first half of 2017, under the chair of Lieutenant General Le Van Minh, Director of the general department.

The report on the task performance in the first 6 months of the General Department of Logistics - Techniques said that although the budget still remained limited, the general department basically fulfilled the assignments. prioritizing investments in equipment for key forces and important areas while promoting its State management of logistics and techniques.

Additionally, the general department accelerated administrative reforms in all fields, based on the principal of readying material resources and logistics for both regular and unexpected operations; improved its capabilities as an investment manager.

All public security hospitals carried out checkups for officers and soldiers under the regulations of the Health Insurance, while continuously improving the quality of medical examination and treatment.

At the same time, the general department instructed relevant units to actively maintain the information and communications systems, facilitating leadership activities, and applied good solutions to public property management in the public security forces.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh recognised and praised the spirit of criticism and self-criticism of the General Department of Logistics – Techniques during the meeting.

In the coming time, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh asked the General Department of Logistics - Techniques to continuously surmount remaining limitations and shortcomings.

He also emphasized that the general department should focus on scientific research activities, strictly implement Resolution 4 of the 12th Party Central Committee and effectively implement the conclusion made by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, at the first-half review conference of the ministry.

In the remainder of 2017, all logistics-techniques units under the Ministry of Public Security should exert all-out effort to actively cooperate with relevant units to ensure absolute security and safety for important political events of the country with a focus on the events within the framework of APEC 2017.

At the conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Thanh handed over the 40 year-old Party membership badge to Lieutenant General Vu Thuat, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics - Techniques and a Third Class Military Exploit Order to Lieutenant General Bui Xuan Son, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Logistics - Techniques.
