"On the occasion of 2021 and the upcoming Lunar New Year of Cow (Tân Sửu), on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, I extend the warmest regards and best wishes to all leaders, officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, cadets, public security workers, retired public security officers, wounded public security officers, families of fallen public security officers as well as civil guard and security guard forces nationwide", the letter reads.

In 2020, the world and the region saw complex, unpredictable, and unprecedented changes while many multidimensional factors negatively affected regional political stability, security and order, Minister To Lam added.

In his letter, General To Lam also highlighted that thanks to the sound leadership of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government, and the great support and assistance from the people, the People's Public Security Forces, in close coordination with the People's Army, other ministries, Central-level agencies and local authorities, have overcome all difficulties and successfully completed their tasks of ensuring national security, protecting absolute safety for the congresses of Party organizations at all levels, political, cultural and diplomatic events.

The forces continued to play a key role in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, responding to natural disasters, conducting rescue and search missions, and natural disaster relief activities. They also maintained political security, social order and safety, effectively contributing to national socio-economic development and diplomatic achievements of the country.

During the last year, all public security Party organizations successfully held their congresses. At the same time, public security agencies and units at all levels carried out meaningful activities in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces and the 15th "All People Protecting National Security" Festive Day.

All under-ministerial public security agencies and local-level units successfully streamlined their organizational apparatus. The entire Public Security Forces have been re-organized toward efficient ministerial agencies, strong provincial police units, multifunctional district police stations, and regular communal police forces.

Public security officers were asked to set good examples, seriously observe discipline, and have cultural behaviors toward people while doing their duties. In fact, a large number of typical examples of public security officers and soldiers, who have done good deeds, bravely fought against crimes and sacrificed themselves for the peace and happiness of the people, were praised by authorities and sectors at all levels and the people.

The Minister of Public Security emphasized in his letter that 2021 is the first year for the Public Security Forces to implement the Resolutions of the 13th National Party and the 7th Public Security Party Congress. In the year, the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term will be organized. Alongside opportunities and advantages, our country is facing many difficulties and challenges in terms of national security and public order.

Therefore, each officer, soldier and Party member working with the People's Public Security Forces should continue promoting the forces’ glorious heroic traditions while attaching great importance to Party and force building, upholding their sense of responsibility in serving the people, and implementing the six teachings of Uncle Ho to the Public Security Forces. At the same time, all public security officers, soldiers and officials should try their best to successfully realize the resolutions of the Party congresses at all levels, contributing to building strong, loyal and reliable People's Public Security Forces that serve as a main political force to protect the Party, State and people.

Minister To Lam also wish all comrades and their families good health, big success and happiness, in the new year!
