General To Lam receives Australian Ambassador

PSNews - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on October 3 received newly-appointed Ambassador of Australia to Vietnam Robyn Mudie.

Speaking at the reception, Minister To Lam congratulated Mudie on her new position and highlighted that the Vietnam – Australia relations have seen developments in various areas, including cooperation in crime prevention and combat.

Minister To Lam hoped that the newly appointed Ambassador would do her best to promote the existing bilateral security coordination mechanisms between the two countries, particularly the upcoming 2

nd Vietnam – Australia Ministerial Dialogue on Security. Minister To Lam suggested that the two sides should coordinate to review outcomes of the implementation of the Vietnam – Australia Plan of Action in the period 2016 -2019 and to build an Action Plan to realize the Vietnam – Australia Strategic Partnership in the period 2020 -2023.

Minister To Lam also asked the Australian side to support Vietnam when it takes the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and a non-permanent seat at the UNSC in the 2020 – 2021 period.

Australian Ambassador Robyn Mudie thanked Minister To Lam for the kind reception and promised to try her best to promote the cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Australia and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam.
