Grand celebration of 80th founding anniversary of Public Security Forces held in Hanoi

The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security solemnly held a grand ceremony to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the People’s Public Security Forces and the 20th anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival on the morning of August 17, in Hanoi.

At the event, the Public Security Forces were also rewarded the Golden Star Order for the fifth time in recognition of their outstanding achievements in safeguarding and developing the Fatherland.

Party General Secretary To Lam attended and delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony.

The ceremony also saw the presence of leaders and former leaders of the Party, the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front; veteran revolutionaries; holders of the titles “Vietnamese Heroic Mother.” “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” and and “Labor Hero”; senior public security officers and retired public security leaders as well as international guests.

Delivering his speech, General Secretary To Lam expressed his deep gratitude, respect and pride of the great contributions of the People's Public Security Forces of generations of public security officers and enlistees to the achievements of the Vietnamese Revolution over the past 80 years.

The General Secretary underscored that the missions of safeguarding national security and maintaining social order and safety are the prerequisite for realizing the national aspiration and goal of building a prosperous and happy Vietnam, a strong nation by the mid-21st century. In that path, the Public Security Forces serve as the core force, the “shield” and the “sword,” protecting the regime and the people, the Party chief added.

He expressed his firm belief that, with the support of the people, the Public Security Forces with their 80-year glorious tradition, steadfast political will, brainpower, dedication will continue to excellently fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the people.

On the historic occasion, the Public Security Forces were honored with the Golden Star Order for the fifth time in recognition of their exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

At the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam pinned an insignia of the Golden Star Order to the traditional flag of the People's Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and all public security officers, non-commissioned officers, enlistees and civilian workers, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang pledged to the Party, State and people that the Public Security Forces will always uphold their revolutionary heroic nature and be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the people in all circumstances.

He affirmed that the Public Security Forces will continuously train in political knowledge and communist ideology, be smart, creative, united, disciplined, vigilant and brave  as well as strengthen coordination with the People’s Army and other forces to overcome all difficulties and challenges and successfully fulfill all assigned tasks, attain more glorious victories and achievements, so as to beautify the Traditional Flag of the heroic People’s Public Security Forces of Vietnam.
