Ha Giang Police and donors support victims in flood-stricken area

PSNews –  Recently, Ha Giang Provincial Police in collaboration with other donors and charitable organizations visited and presented gifts to needy people in flood-stricken area in Ha Giang.

According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, at least five people have been killed in heavy rains and severe flooding in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang last June. Moreover, the floods also pulled down, swept away dozens of house, damaged and submerged hundreds of others.

Therefore, the Ha Giang Provincial Police in collaboration with donors and charity organizations held many charitable activities to support people in the flood-stricken area in Ha Giang

Accordingly, the Women Union Chapters of Division of Political Work, Division of Filing of Ha Giang cooperated with the Quang Ninh charitable team presented gift to 12 families in difficult circumstance (worth VND 45 million) in Lung Tam commune, Quan Ba district and 11 needy families (worth VND 13 million) in Cao Bo commune and Minh Tan commune, Vi Xuyen district.

“These gifts which include cash, rice, clothes, books are not about material but the caring of the Ha Giang Provincial Police in general and other donors in particular for unlucky people”, a representative of Ha Giang Provincial Police said.

Earlier, a delegation from the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) visited flood stricken localities in the northern mountainous provinces of Lai Chau and Ha Giang.

The delegation has called for maximum support for all rescue and relief efforts, and to ensure evacuation of those living in high risk landslide-prone areas. The VFF has decided to provide Ha Giang and Lai Chau VND 1 billion VND  each to alleviate local residents' losses.
