Hanoi leader extends greetings on Lord Buddha’s birthday

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue on May 4 visited the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Committee and the VBS Executive Board of Hanoi on the occasion of Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday.

He wished Buddhist dignitaries and followers good health and happiness, and greater achievements in Buddhist affairs.

The Party and State always appreciate the VBS’s contributions to national construction and development, and facilitate the practice of Buddhism, the official said.

Hue also spoke highly of Hanoi’s performance in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and in economic recovery, and thanked Buddhist dignitaries and followers for their companionship in the effort.

He called on dignitaries of the VBS and the VBS Executive Board of Hanoi to continue setting examples and encourage Buddhist followers to observe regulations on pandemic prevention and control.

The same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man sent a letter of greetings to Buddhist dignitaries and followers on the same occasion

He extended his best wishes to Buddhist followers nationwide and expressed his appreciation of their joint efforts in the country’s fight against COVID-19.

The official asked the VBS and Buddhist dignitaries and followers to continue promoting the strength of great national unity and join hands with nations to defeat the disease, boost socio-economic development, ensure defence and security, and raise Vietnam’s regional and international profile.
