Hanoi police force makes great achievements in fighting crimes

PSNews - The Hanoi Municipal Police Department on December 21 held a meeting to review its task performance in 2020 and roll out its working plan for 2021. General To Lam, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

The event also saw the participation of Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee; Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, Party Central Committee’s member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People Committee.

The report delivered by Major General Le Hai Trung, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department read that the capital city’s police forces closely followed the directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the city’s Party Committee, People Council, People Committee while effectively coordinating with authorities at all levels to take effective measures to fulfill their assigned tasks in 2020.

The Hanoi’s police also maintained political stability, responded to arising issues and complex cases related to security and order, avoided being put at a disadvantage, and implemented the project to  build the communal police forces. The unit also well implemented prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, contributing to socio-economic development of the city.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Hanoi police forces over the past time.

Minister To lam also underlined four great achievements of the city’s police force in 2020. First, the Hanoi Municipal Police Department effectively advised the Public Security Central Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the city’s Party Committee, People Council, People Committee on measures to ensure security and safety in the capital city, especially solutions to address urgent issues related to security.

According to Minister To Lam, the Hanoi police forces also played an excellent role in the fight against COVID-19, while ensuring absolute safety for key premises and important political events held in Hanoi in 2020. Their work was highly appreciated by the Party, State, people and international guests.

Next, the Hanoi police made special efforts to reduce traffic accidents in the city and achieved many remarkable results of its Party building and force building.  Finally, the city’s police successfully implemented the project on the building of the communal police force by posting professional officers to all 383 communes in the city.

Regarding the major tasks in 2021, Minister To Lam suggested that the Hanoi police should concretize its working programs and plans to successfully maintain security and absolute safety for key targets and important political events to be held in Hanoi in 2021, especial the 13th National Party Congress and the general elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

The Minister of Public Security asked Hanoi’s police to enhance the application of professional tactics as well as professional and social preventive measures to reduce crimes in the city. Minister To Lam requested the capital’s police force to strengthen the management of residency of foreigners, management of weapons, explosives and combat gears, and conditional business, accelerate administrative reforms to facilitate administrative services for people and businesses.

Minister To Lam underlined that the city’s police should focus on Party work and force building, tighten the discipline and increase inspection to prevent wrongdoings.
