Hanoi police makes major efforts to help flood-affected people

PSNews - Hundreds of police officers were mobilized to consolidate the Bui River’s dykes in Chuong My, Hanoi as the river’s water is still at high level.

Heavy rains over the past weeks have raised the water level of the Bui River’s section in Chuong My, Hanoi to an unusual level, endangering the Bui River’s dykes.

Against this backdrop, hundreds of local people and police officers were mobilized to consolidate Bui River’s dykes. The volunteers have been working all night to transport large sandbags and strengthen the Bui River’s dykes.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Traffic Police Division in collaboration with local police forces has deployed its officers to guide the traffic and special function vehicles to transport people through water-logged road sections and dangerous areas in Chuong My district.

Earlier, a delegation, led by Lieutenant General Pham Quang Cu, Vice Director of General Department of Logistics and Techniques, Vice Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of the Ministry of Public Security visited and worked with the local authorities of flooded areas in Chuong My district, Hanoi. The Directorate of the Hanoi Police has also drawn up plans to support the local people after the floods withdraw.
