Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of Hanoi City Public Security presided over the ceremony. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung recalled the 60-year glorious history of the People's Police Force.

On July 20, 1962, President Ho Chi Minh signed an order to promulgate two ordinances defining the tasks and powers of the People's Police Force and the rank systems of commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers of the People's Police Force of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Since then, July 20 every year has become the traditional anniversary of the Vietnamese People's Police Force.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Trung addresses the event.

Over the past six decades, under the leadership of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the People's Police Force, including Hanoi’s police force, has always been absolutely loyal to the Party, the ideals of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the revolution, as well as served the national interests and strengthened blood ties with the people.

Following the fine tradition of the Vietnamese People's Police Force, Hanoi’s police officers and soldiers today constantly are always ready to sacrifice themselves for the peace of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
