Hanoi police praised for stamping out drug ring

Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on December 1 sent a letter praising the Municipal Police Department and the Police Station of Bac Tu Liem district for arresting a large drug-related ring.

On October 25, the police of Bac Tu Liem district in coordination with the professional departments under the Public Security Ministry launched an attack on a major drug trafficking ring, arrested a number of people involved and seized a large amount of drugs of various kinds. The exhibits caught at the scene include 30 packs of heroin, 4.6 kg of synthetic drugs and over 8 billion VND, the letter mentions the case.

According to the Chairman, it is an outstanding achievement of the city’s police in the fight against crimes, especially drug-related crime, contributing to ensuring security and order, and protecting the peaceful and happy life of the people. He also noted the significance of the local police’s victory given the capital city and the whole country are welcoming the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.

He expressed his hope that all police officers and soldiers of Hanoi in general will further heighten their sense of responsibility for work to ensure security and order in the capital city.

The Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee also asked relevant units to extend investigation into the case, collect more evidence, and promptly complete documents to prosecute all involved persons.
