Hanoi sets up 22 checkpoints to prevent COVID-19

PSNews–The Hanoi Municipal Police Department on July 13 sent an urgent dispatch to the Hanoi Capital High Command, leaders of the local civilian departments of transport, health, information and communications, and Chairman of People's Committees of Hanoi’s districts and towns to join efforts in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.

The dispatch says, the Hanoi police forces will collaborate with local functional forces to set up checkpoints at inter-provincial train stations and coach stations and major gateways to Hanoi from Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho provinces.

A team working at each checkpoint will include traffic police, mobile police, medical workers and local civil guards. All the checkpoints will operate around the clock, starting from July 14. They are in charge of conducting medical checks of all vehicles entering the city, as well as ensuring security and order on roads. 

People and vehicles will be stopped at checkpoints. While passengers and drivers will be bested for COVID-19, vehicles will be disinfected with chemicals.

Public transport vehicles entering Hanoi from COVID-19 hit provinces and cities of Ho Chi Minh, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, DakLak, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Nam will not be allowed to enter Hanoi, except for some special cases.
