Hanoi traffic police use special function vehicle to clear the way for car carrying critical patient to hospital

On August 16 morning, when Vu Dinh Kham (45, residing in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province) was taking his family member to check up his heart at a hospital in Hanoi by car. On the way, the patient said he had difficulty in breathing and felt worse.

In this emergency situation, Kham did not know what to do so he decided to stop his car to call people for help. At that time, Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Thanh of the Hanoi Traffic Police Division under the Hanoi Municipal Police Department saw the car stopping abnormally so he went to it.

As Thanh was informed of the patient’s situation, the young police officer immediately turned his police motorbike to clear the way for Kham's car to quickly run in the opposite direction to Bach Mai Hospital – the nearest one.

The patient was lucky enough to be hospitalized in time for treatment.

Several days after the incident, Kham, on behalf of his family, sent a letter to the Hanoi Municipal Police, the Hanoi Traffic Police Division expressing his deep feelings and thanks to Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Thanh.

"Our family is grateful and touched by the action of Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Thanh, showing the devotedness of the polcie to the people. He has saved our relative in such a critical situation", Kham wrote in his letter.

Speaking to the PSNews, Thanh said: "Supporting and assisting people in need are a responsibility of each police officer. Any police officer in my situation would do the same".
