A Gangwon delegation led by provincial vice governor Chung Man Ho are visiting the city and attending the International Travel Expo-Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC). At a September 7 reception for the delegation, Mr Mang said the visit demonstrates Gangwon leaders’ determination to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation in accordance with a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of friendly relations signed in June 2017.

He described a memorandum of understanding on culture and sports, which has recently been signed between the HCM City Department of Culture and Sports and Gangwon as a step to concretize agreements reached by the two localities’ leaders and open up avenues for new cooperation opportunities in culture and sports as well as other fields, bringing practical benefits to both sides.

For his part, Mr Man Ho expressed his delight at the strong development of bilateral relations between Gangwon and HCM City and hopes that cooperation in culture, sports, tourism, economics and trade will be intensified through specific projects and programs in the coming time.

The MoU on culture and sports will lay the foundation for both sides to boost close and effective cooperation in these fields in future, he said, adding that Gangwon wants to collaborate with HCM City to implement tourism projects to take full advantage of the tourism potential.
