Health sector to speed up digital transformation

PSNews- The Working Group on Implementing a Project to Apply Population, Identification and Electronic Authentication Data to National Digital Transformation in the period 2022-2025 with a vision toward 2030 launched by the Government (Project 06) had a working session with the Ministry of Health to review the implementation of Project 06 in the health sector, on the afternoon of November 19th, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Permanent Deputy Head of the Project 06 Working Group, and Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc co-chaired the working session.

At the meeting, delegates heard reports on the implementation of Project 06 of the health sector, the implementation of electronic health books and electronic health records, and the digital transformation process within the health sector.

Delegates also clarified a number of relevant issues, pointed out obstacles to the implementation of Project 06, the project on digital transformation in the health sector and the pilot digital transformation model at the Bach Mai Hospital and the Cho Ray Hospital, and proposed approaches to accelerate the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s tasks defined in Project 06.

In addition, delegates also discussed the management of drug addicts according to the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Public Security.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the project on digital transformation in the health sector is not only a political task but also a breakthrough strategy in the field of healthcare, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of the state management of healthcare, protecting people’s health and ensuring human security, towards building a smart, modern, international healthcare system.

The project on digital transformation in the health sector also contributes to facilitating people in carrying out administrative procedures as well as reducing costs of medical examination and treatment.

The Public Security Deputy Minister also proposed that the entire health sector should recognize the significance of digital transformation and take the lead in realizing the targets of the project, so as to provide people with high-quality medical examination and treatment on the basis of utilizing available technology platforms and databases.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long also asked involved units and agencies to carefully review all difficulties and obstacles to find appropriate solutions, speed up the implementation of assigned tasks and mobilize social resources to join with the health sector in the digital transformation process.
