Ho Chi Minh City’s police active in supporting foreigners during COVID-19

A number of foreigners in HCM City have received supports from the municipal and local authorities during the difficult time of the pandemic.

Officers of HCMC Police Department present gifts to foreigners in the city. 

The police in HCM City have visited and presented gifts to foreigners staying in the city, encouraged them to follow the social distancing regulations, contributing to the efficiency of prevention and combat of the pandemic in the city.

Polienko Vadim, a Russian national who had been unemployed for 3 months, thanked the city’s police for their support at a time when his savings are running out.

Murat Kaymakcigglu, an English teacher from Turkey, who is now living in Thu Duc City, said he was facing various difficulties when he ran out of money. Additional, he suffered severe asthma. The police in Truong Tho ward helped him find a place to stay for free, and supported him to treat the disease.

A delegation of the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front of Thu Duc City coordinated with the police and Thao Dien ward authorities on September 16 visited and presented gifts to 16 foreigners in the locality.

Murat Kaymakcigglu was among the foreigners receiving the support from the delegation. He expressed his delight and gratitude to local police and agencies for the timely and effective support. He said he felt lucky living in Vietnam.

Jamier, a health worker for a school, expressed her thanks for the  local police and organizations’ care, noting the support meant a lot for her during the days of social distancing and hoped that the city would gradually return to normal life.

The authorities of An Khanh ward, Thu Duc City also supported foreigners living in the locality.

In addition to cash and food, foreigners in Thu Duc City can have an access to vaccinate.

Earlier, authorities in Tan Binh, Phu Nhuan and District 4 also offered foreigners COVID-19 shots and supported foreigners, particularly those who work in education and tourism in the localities.
