Hoa Binh popularizes Traffic Rules to ethnic minorities

PSNews-The number of traffic accidents in rural areas is on the rise due to local people’s poor awareness and information about the traffic laws. As a result, the traffic police should work hard to change people’s perception of the traffic laws and improve people’s awareness of traffic safety.

In fact, similar activities have been done in Hoa Binh province. The Hoa Binh Provincial Traffic Police usually organize information dissemination drives on the traffic laws for local people.

Recently, they travelled to the remote mountainous communes of Hang Kia and Pa Co, Mai Chau district to popularize the traffic laws and traffic safety rules to local ethnic minority people. Early in the morning, many locals arrived at the organized site. Ethnic minorities listened attentively to traffic police’s explanations and instructions.

“I have 3 children already. My husband is always drunk. The last time he and I went to the market together, he fell off the motor bike several times and had yet to recover. Now I have to ride to the market myself,” said Mua Y Sia, a Hmong woman holding her baby and still wearing her helmet on, while listening to the traffic police.

Such a drive proved to be so effective as local people become more aware of observing the traffic rules.

HoaBinh is a mountainous province, local people, particularly ethnic minorities in remote mountainous communes, have poor awareness and understanding of basic traffic regulations, Colonel Nguyen Van Hai, Head of the Hoa Binh Traffic Police told reporter of the CAND Newspaper.

Every weekend, the Provincial Traffic Police dispatches its traffic officers and soldiers to remote and rural areas to disseminate information and traffic rules, and educate local people on traffic safety regulations.
