Horse-Mounted Police Squad introduced to Government and NA leaders

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on June 8 introduced its newly established horse-mounted police force to leaders of the Party, State and National Assembly deputies by organizing a horse-mounted police parade in front of the National Assembly in Hanoi.

The event saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.

Speaking at the event, NA Chairwoman appreciated the efforts and achievements of the People’s Police Forces in general and the Mobile Police in particular in ensuring national security and social order and safety.

Due to the complexity of the crime situation as well as an increase in social disturbances and opposition to law-enforcement forces in recent times, the Mobile Police Force has been required to be expanded and built as a regular, elite and modern force of the Public Security Forces to meet all task requirements in the new situation.

The Mobile Police Command has established the Horse-Mounted Police Squad to improve the strength and capabilities of the Mobile Police Force.  As a newly born unit, the Horse-Mounted Police Squad are facing various difficulties in terms of both material and human resources.

The Chairwoman asked the MPS to actively advise the NA to complete legal documents regulating the organization and operation of the Mobile Police Force, including the Horse-Mounted Police Squad.

She noted that the MPS and the Mobile Police Command should create the most favorable conditions for the soldiers and officers of the unit and continuously improve the quality of training activities.

NA Chairwoman requested the Horse-Mounted Police Squad to try their best to fulfil all given tasks.

On behalf of the Public Security Party Committee and the MPS leadership, Major General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, thanked the leaders of the Party, State and Government for their attention and direction to build the Public Security Forces as a regular, elite and gradually modern force.
