The organizers gave a hypothetical situation in which an 8-year-old girl was beaten by her stepfather without her mother’s knowing, but her teachers spotted her injuries.
Students participated in the event eagerly, raising a lot of questions about domestic and school violence while their parents expressed their hope that more similar extracurricular activities would be held in the future to equip their children with knowledge and skills to deal with violence.
Reportedly, a number of students have suffered physical violence at home and school, which has negatively affected their health and lives.
In some cases, children were too scared to tell anybody about their situations so no timely intervention was made.
In the time to come, hotlines 111 and 18009069 will be printed on students’ notebooks so that they can contact if they become victims of violence.
