Huge amount of drugs seized in Dien Bien

PSNews-The largest drug case in Dien Bien has just been stamped out.

The Police Office for Drug-Related Crimes under the Dien Bien Provincial Police succeeded in tackling a specialized case coded X, caught 2 suspects carrying drugs, seized the largest amount of synthetic drugs ever recorded in Dien Bien province on December 14.

Thanks to the information reported by scouts, the Police Office for Drug-Related Crimes knew that 2 suspects, involved in the specialized case, were transporting drugs from the Vietnam-Laos border line to Muong Nha commune, Dien Bien District.

A task force team was secretly deployed to catch the 2 suspects red-handed. The 2 suspects are Vang A Minh, 25, resident of Huoi Den village, Puhong commune, Dien Bien Dong district, and Ha A Co, 49, resident of Tong So village, Pu Hong commune, Dien Bien Dong district.

Local police then seized 66,000 pills of synthetic drugs and 1 motorcycle on the spot. According to the initial declaration by the two suspects, they bought the drugs in the Vietnam-Laos border area, but were arrested on their way to selling the drugs.

During the arrest, the suspects fought back the police drastically, injuring Major Tran Trung Kien.

The case is still under investigation.
