Hungary helps Build resident management system in Hai Phong

PSNews-The General Department of Police and Hai Phong Municipal Police co-organized a meeting to sum up the “Building resident management system” Project using preferential credit from the Hungarian Government.

The meeting was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Vice Director of the General Department of Police.

The event also saw the presence of Mr. Szatmary Kristof, Hungarian Secretary of State for Domestic Economy in the Ministry of National Economy as well as other participants from relevant agencies.

After 3 years of implementation, Hai Phong has completed the collecting of data of more than 550,000 local households and granted personal identification numbers to 1.97 million citizens (over 99% of the city’s population).

The statistical data help relevant agencies work out the exact list of the city’s voters for the Election of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels as well as provide changes in the city’s population, contributing to drawing up plans for the city’s socio-economic development.

The collected data have also assisted the local police force to easily access the information about 142 criminals and arrested 2 quarries.

On this occasion, the MPS, the Hai Phong Municipal People’s Committee and the General Department of Police honored 13 teams and 12 individuals with outstanding contributions to the project.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Szatmary applauded the concerted efforts to implement the project, hoping that the outcomes would contribute to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.

He also highlighted Vietnam as a good friend of Hungary. The success of the project will make contributions to cementing the bilateral cooperation and relationship between the two nations.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh thanked the Hungarian Government for their significant assistance  to the locality.

He also urged Hai Phong to direct relevant departments and branches to cooperate with public security forces to promote information dissemination and raise public awareness of the project as well as to soon craft policies to implement the project.
