After two days working in an urgent, serious and responsible manner, the 78th National Public Security Conference was closed with a great success, on the afternoon of December 20, 2022, in Hanoi.

The participants listened to and thoroughly discussed a summary report on the work results of the Public Security Forces in 2022, and orientations for tasks of the forces in 2023 as well as very important reports. 

At the conference, the participants also listened to 34 informative presentations delivered by leaders of the public security agencies and units, and deputy ministers in charge of various fields of work. 

At the conference, the Ministry of Public Security summed up the “For National Security” movement in 2022 and granted awards of the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security to units and officers for their outstanding achievements in the movement. 

Specially, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended, delivered a keynote speech, in which he praised the Public Security Forces for their successes in safeguarding national security, maintaining order and building up the People's Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the conclusion of the Conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, General To Lam applauded the good work results and outstanding achievements achieved by the People's Public Security Forces in 2022.

Conference overview.

He stressed, 2023 is the second year of implementing Resolution No.12 issued by the Politburo by March 16, 2022, on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces to meet the task requirements in the new situation.

Next year, the forces are likely to face various difficulties and challenges in protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety so it requires all public security officers and soldiers to have strong strong political will, high sensitivity to the situation, creativity at work, strong resolve to complete all of their assignments, contributing positively to socio-economic development and foreign relations of the country. 

Minister To Lam requested that public security and units should actively implement guidelines and resolutions of Party committees at all levels. 

Immediately after the conference, Minister To Lam asked public security agencies and units to effectively implement the documents issued the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring order and security during Tet 2023, strongly attack criminals while taking due care of material and spiritual lives of public security officers and soldiers so that they can enjoy Spring and welcome Tet. 

Leaders of agencies and units should visit elderly public security officers, high-ranking retired officers, wounded and sick officers, families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and officers in difficult circumstances.
