The ceremony also saw the presence of former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, former Permanent Member of the Secretariat and former Minister of Public Security General Le Hong Anh, former Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, and Deputy Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan.

The Kien Giang Provincial Police Department’s new headquarters project, approved by the Ministry of Public Security as one of the commemorative projects to mark the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025), was officially started from June 12, 2020.

With 8 main facilities, the new headquarters will provide a modern, comfortable working environment for local police officers, meeting increasing demands for a modern workplace and supporting the work of the local police.

Thanks to the effort of the project manager and contractor, the project was completed 18 months ahead of the deadline.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc emphasized that the Kien Giang Provincial Police Force should continue to take the lead in implementing the Party’s and State’s policies.

He called on the local police to further uphold their sense of responsibility and be wholeheartedly dedicated to the nation and the people, making their parts to the country’s development in the new era of national rise.

The Deputy Minister also expressed his hope that the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, would continue to prioritize investment for the local police, particularly the communal-level police force, to meet their growing task requirements in the current context.

* On the same day, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc also visited the Dong Thap Provincial Police Department.

Acknowledging the positive outcomes achieved by the police departments of Dong Thap and Tien Giang provinces in maintaining security and social order, Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc urged the police forces of Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces to cement their unity and make consensus when implementing the policy of merging the police forces of the two provinces.
