PSNews - The Kien Giang Provincial Police Department organized a meeting to review the work of ensuring security and order in Phu Quoc city in the past 2 years, on the morning of August 9th, in Phu Quoc city.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Head of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

According to reports delivered at the meeting, after 2 years of implementing directions of leaders of MPS, the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee and the Kien Giang Provincial People’s Committee, the security and order situation in Phu Quoc city has now been maintained.

The Phu Quoc City Police Station has actively advised the local authority to resolve disputes and conflicts among local people, while strictly managing drug addicts as well as effectively combating crimes and violations in the city.

At the meeting, delegates pointed out several remaining shortcomings and limitations in the work of ensuring security and order in Phu Quoc city, and discussed approaches to reduce crime and law violations in the city in the coming time.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long awards MPS certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Addressing the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long acknowledged and praised the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and the Phu Quoc City Police Station for their achievements in ensuring security and order in Phu Quoc city in the past two years, saying that all Kien Giang police leaders and officers had shown their strong political will and made clear changes to their thinking and action, contributing to quickly stabilizing the security and order situation in Phu Quoc city.

The Deputy Minister requested the Kien Giang Provincial Police Department and the Phu Quoc City Police Station continue to advise the local authorities to resolve root causes of crime and law violations, especially in the fields of land management, construction and internal conflict among people, minimizing opportunity for crime to arise.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long requested the local police to strongly and effectively combat crimes, carefully investigate and strictly handle all cases of crimes and law violations, following the principle “Rightful charge on rightful person” so as to avoid injustices.

The Deputy Minister underlined that the Kien Giang police should further promote the “All people protecting national security” movement so as to mobilize the entire political system and all people to participate in preventing and fighting crimes and law violations.
